Fire Safety Plan + Evacuation Plan

footPRINT provide buildings with a Fire Safety Plan, we use state of the art Mobile CAD survey software (SiteMaster) to capture a buildings characteristics and layout. We place the current locations of all fire safety equipment and can work with you to suggest escape routes and muster points. Once a fire safety officer has carried out their audit of the building and their suggestions have been carried out we can adapt the plans according to the changes made.

The plans we provide are a large part of your complete Fire Safety Plan and can be displayed around the building showing the occupiers the location of escape routes and Fire Safety equipment. We also provide you with a CAD plan of the building, this is digital to scale plan and can be used by fire departments in the case of a fire. We recommend you forward a copy to your local fire department.

In certain cases having possession, displaying and providing to the Fire Department the plan we produce can help reduce insurance rates for the building.

Below are some further details surrounding the current laws:

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) came into effect in October 2006 and replaced over 70 pieces of fire safety law.

The FSO applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales, including the common parts of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs). The law applies to you if you are:

  • Responsible for business premises

  • An employer or self-employed with business premises

  • Responsible for a part of a dwelling where that part is solely used for business purposes

  • A charity or voluntary organisation

  • A contractor with a degree of control over any premises

  • Providing accommodation for paying guests

Under the FSO, the responsible person must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and implement and maintain a fire management plan.
